Terms of Service

Last updated August 15, 2026

The short version

  • You bring the antenna, the tuner, and a computer that stays on. We bring the software and the guide.
  • Subscriptions start with a 30-day free trial. Cancel any time and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Recordings live on your disk, not ours — which also means we cannot get them back for you if you lose them.

What TIBBL is

TIBBL records free over-the-air television. You supply an antenna, an HDHomeRun network tuner, and a computer that stays powered on to run the recorder. We supply the recorder software, the program guide, and the apps you watch on.

We are not a television provider. We do not transmit, license, or rebroadcast any programming. TIBBL records the free broadcasts your own antenna already receives, and without that hardware it has nothing to record.

Your account

You need an account to use TIBBL. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for activity under your account. An account is meant for one household. If you think someone else has access, tell us and we will help you shut it down.

Plans, trials, and billing

Prices. The prices shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe are the ones that apply.

Trial. Subscription plans start with a 30-day free trial. We charge when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. A one-time purchase, where one is offered, does not include a trial.

Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel.

Cancelling. Cancel whenever you like. You keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not prorate partial periods.

Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before it takes effect so you can decide whether to stay.

The trial exists so you can find out whether TIBBL works with your hardware before paying for it. If something goes wrong anyway, email us — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

Your recordings live on your hardware

Recordings are written to the disk of the computer running your recorder. We do not keep copies. That is the point of the design, and it has a consequence worth stating plainly: if you lose those files, we cannot restore them. Back up anything you care about.

For the same reason, recordings depend on your machine. If it is off, asleep, or out of disk space when a program airs, the recording will not happen.

Record for personal use in your own household. Do not redistribute, publicly perform, or sell your recordings. What you are permitted to record is governed by the law where you live, and staying inside it is your responsibility.

Acceptable use

Do not resell or share access to your account, interfere with or attack the service, scrape it, or attempt to derive our source in order to build a competing product. Do not use TIBBL to break the law.

Availability

TIBBL is run by a very small team. We do not promise a particular level of uptime, we will take things down for maintenance, and sometimes things will break. We will not pretend otherwise in a document you might rely on.

Guide data and metadata

Program listings come from third-party data providers, and artwork and descriptions come from TMDB. That data is occasionally wrong, and a wrong listing can produce a wrong recording. We are not liable for third-party listing errors, but we do want to hear about them — tell us and we will chase the correction.

Privacy

What we collect and what we do not is set out separately, in specific terms rather than general ones.

Privacy Policy →

Ending it

You can cancel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that has not paid. If your account is closed, we delete the account data described in the privacy policy — and the recordings on your own disk remain yours and untouched.

Warranty and liability

TIBBL is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow those limits. Where that is the case, they do not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will change the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you by email rather than hoping you notice.
